With over twenty five years in media, initially in advertising and design working with the likes of Nike and Mercedes, Matthew became head of design at agency Maher Bird. Inspired by own his father's involvement with film as a television producer and director, Matthew left advertising to pursue a career behind the camera, re-training as director of photography.

Studying part time at the National Film School, he started shooting and directing documentaries for Channel 4, Discovery Channel, UKTV, US network AMC, with a long period working across Africa working for the UNFPA and Bill Gates Foundation. In 2007 his first feature documentary as cinematographer for Fulwell73 and Lionsgate 'In the Hands of the Gods' opened in Leicester Square and nationwide to critical acclaim and a record number of screens for a UK feature doc. Matthew has since embraced a broad spectrum of work, from documentary to feature, commercial and content.

Matt also directs as well as shoots and amongst numerous promos, documentary and corporates, directing work has included the Cannes Lion, Campaign digital and Webby award winning 'Keep Discovering' digital campaign for Emirates airlines and LMFM shot in Sao Paulo, New York, Mumbai, Kenya and the UK, the 2016 Rogue One 'Made Great in Britain' campaign for Lucasfilm, Disney, GREAT and Feref. Matthew has worked as Director of Photography on commercial work for Adidas, Barclays, Kellogg's, Landrover, Mclaren, Sony, Star Alliance and documentary for BBC and ITV.

Matthew holds both UK and Canadian passports.
